Care & Maintenance

Proper Underlay

It is important to have a proper underlay for your carpet. There are a variety of types depending on your flooring and preferences. The main purpose is to keep your carpet in place and for safety against slippage.

Vacuuming

As part of regular maintenance, depending on foot traffic, it is recommended that your carpet gets vacuumed on a regular basis. Make sure to use a regular bristle-head, not the power brush.

Sprouting

Our carpets are hand-knotted and hand-sheared; therefore some strands of wool or silk may sprout. If this occurs, do not worry, your carpet is not unravelling. All you need to do is take a pair of sharp scissors and snip the strand. Do not pull on the thread.

Cleaning and Restoration Services

Spills

As a rule, for water-based stains, blot, immediately with a heavy-duty paper towel and try to absorb as much as possible. Add a bit of water to dilute the stain further for easier blotting. If the stain persists, contact a professional cleaner. For oil-based stains, use a spoon to scrape from the outside to the centre to avoid spreading the stain further. Then proceed to use a wool-safe cleaner, such as Woolite, to blot dissolve the fat, and clean the spot. Do not use any chemicals. If you’re not sure about what kind of stain it is, or how to deal with it, it is best to leave it alone and give us a call. *Disclaimer - Due to the variety of spillage that can occur, the above are merely suggestions, and may not guarantee the removal of stains.

There may come a time in a carpet’s life when it will need to be mended, repaired, or restored. At W STUDIO, we can restore even the most unique carpets.
